Take 20+ years of LEAPS research beyond the report
Creative concept, digital content, media, school activations, policy engagement
Twenty years of
LEAPS research.
Learn to Earn is an advocacy and dissemination campaign developed by CERP’s Strategic Communications team, drawing on more than two decades of evidence from the Learning and Educational Achievements in Pakistan Schools study. The campaign translates research on foundational learning into an accessible narrative connecting early literacy and numeracy with future education, economic opportunity and earnings.
Bringing evidence to life
Through digital storytelling, media engagement and school visits, the campaign made research accessible to parents, educators, policymakers and the wider public.
One concept. Every channel.
Snakes and Ladders became the campaign’s visual language. Ladders for the opportunities strong foundational learning creates. Snakes for the setbacks that follow learning gaps. The same idea ran through every post, video, explainer and event, before it became a life sized game.
Research & Storytelling
Findings rewritten as explainers, videos, posts and conversations people stop to watch.
Community Engagement
The game taken to schools in LEAPS villages. Students played. Teachers and parents joined in.
Media & Public Engagement
National newspapers, social platforms, podcasts and university discussions, all telling the same story.
Policy Engagement
The campaign brought into policy conversations on foundational learning.
Designed to be played.
Before it reached a school courtyard, the game was a carefully designed board. Every square carries a line from the story. Ladders carry the wins of strong early learning. Snakes carry the cost of learning gaps. Some ladders even give you immunity from a snake further up.
Messages run in English and Urdu, so children, parents and teachers can all play along.
How far it went.
From Research Back to Communities
We took the campaign back to Faisalabad and Attock, where the LEAPS research was originally conducted. School visits, parent outreach and a board children could walk across. The research met the families it was about.

A research report doesn’t have to read like one.
Learn to Earn shows how research, creative communication and stakeholder engagement can work together to take evidence beyond academic and policy audiences.
