Shahwar Asif is a curious reader and aspiring development practitioner with a strong interest in political economy, global politics, and South Asian feminist literature. Outside of work, she enjoys discovering new music and exploring thought-provoking writing on politics and society.
After graduating with a degree in Economics and Politics, Shahwar pursued her Master’s in Public Policy and Governance, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. She began her career teaching and researching South Asian history at the Information Technology University. She later joined the Centre for Public Policy and Governance at FCCU, where she contributed to political research, advocacy, communication, and outreach, and acted as the editor of the center’s quarterly magazine.
Shahwar has also written for The News on Sunday on topics like taxation, health, and the digital divide. Previously at DevTrio, she worked as an M&E research associate and business development specialist, co-authoring evaluation reports on gender-based violence and adult literacy in Pakistan. As a Young and Emerging Evaluator Fellow with the World Bank’s Global Evaluation Initiative, and now a Senior Associate at CLEAR-PCA, hosted by CERP, her work focuses on evaluation capacity development, policy research, and stakeholder engagement across South and Central Asia.
