MoU signing between CERP & Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives, Government of Pakistan to strengthen the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) capacities at national and sub national level.

September 15, 2022
On 22 August 2022 CLEAR Pakistan & Central Asia, a joint programme of GEI and CERP, and the Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives (PD&SI), entered into an MoU to strengthen its Monitoring & Evaluation capacities. The MoU was signed between CERP’s President and CEO, Maroof A. Syed, and Secretary Planning Development and Special Initiative, Syed Zafar Ali Shah for a period of three years. The event was also attended by high-level officials from both CERP and the Government of Pakistan including Director CLEAR PCA, Amna Aaqil, and Director General Monitoring, S.R Usmani. To build the organisational capacity of PD&SI, CLEAR PCA will work closely with the government on improving its M&E systems through a result-based framework to improve its impact evaluation methodologies, diagnostic and indicator measurement. Additionally, EvalPCA will provide tailored technology solutions, technical and advisory support and customised training to the Planning Commission of Pakistan. Hopefully, this agreement will support Pakistan’s government in leading a journey powered by evidence and empower them with evidence-based decisions.
