| Collective for Social Science Research | |
| The
Collective for Social Science Research was established in 2001 with
a small core staff of innovative researchers in the social sciences
who have extensive experience conducting multidisciplinary research
both in Pakistan and internationally. Their areas of research interest
include economics, education, development policy, gender studies,

Mahbub ul Haq Human Development Center Established in
November 1995 by Dr. Mahbub-ul-Haq (developer of the HDI), the Mahbub
ul Haq Human Development Centre is a policy research institute and
think tank with a special focus on South Asia. It publishes annual
reports on Human Development in South Asia, the Mahbub-ul-Haq Development
Review, and various policy studies and seminars. |

A unique HEC
project, the Pakistan Research Repository is a digital
archive of the full-text of over 1600 Ph.D. theses. Still
under population, once completed, the repository will include
all Ph.D. theses published by institutions in Pakistan which are
estimated to be approximately 3200 PhD in number. |

Islamabad Policy Research Institute Founded
in 1999, the IPRI evaluates politico-strategic issues
affecting Pakistan, South Asia and world affairs. It publishes
the biannual IPRI Journal, and the IPRI Papers
and Factfile. It also organizes seminars and workshops. |

Pakistan Institute of Development Economics Based in Quaid-e-Azam
University,
PIDE devoted to theoretical and empirical research in Development
Economics in general and on Pakistan-related economic issues in
particular. Established in 1957, it publishes the Pakistan Development
Review. Since 2002, PIDE also offers degrees in PhD Economics. |

Center for Management and Economic Research (CMER) Based in
the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS),
CMER conducts research on various economic issues, publishing working
papers and research monographs, and conducts workshops and seminars.

research focusing on productivity; information technology; economic

research institute with a broad, development-centric research agenda
